Exploring the city of Tours...

If you have time, there are several places of interest downtown:

  • Take a walk along the Loire River,and in particular, do not hesitate to stop and have a drink at the 'Guinguette' (officially called 'Tours sur Loire', where you can also have lunch and listen to various types of music).

  • Have a look at the Place Plumereau area (old city of Tours), where you'll find many little streets and cafés.

  • The Rue Colbert is a nice street to find a place to eat.

  • And if you feel like shopping, walk down the rue Nationale (straight across the Wilson bridge) and the adjacent streets.

  • There is a always an exposition (photograph, painting,…) in the Chateau of Tours (from Tuesday to Sunday - 14h-18h) : informations here.
